“John 17:11… And now I will no longer be in the world, but they are in the world, while I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one just as we are. “

Fr Peter Marsalek, General Priest Servant of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity, commissioned me to paint this painting
for the Synod on Synodality in the Diocese of Corpus. It is to commemorate the closing of the encounter sessions for the Synod on Synodality in the Diocese of Corpus Christi and unveiled after a mass on May 29, 2022 at the Corpus Christi Cathedral, celebrated by Bishop Mulvey.  All glory and honor belong to God!! It was truly an honor to be a paintbrush in the studio of the Holy Spirit.

Note: After the unveiling, I revised a couple of characters on the painting and added missing rosaries, accessories and defined hands. Afterwards, on October 26, 2022, this poster was created for the State of the Diocese event, held in Robstown, where the painting was featured at the Synod Table. It answers the top 3 questions about it:

1) Who’s who in the painting?
2) Who was your model for Jesus?
3) What was your painting concept?

It was great to see some of the “models” who finally saw the painting in person.

You and I are one!
